If you’re looking for a wine that combines tradition and innovation, look no further than Chateau La Conseillante. This Pomerol icon has been making superb wines for centuries but never rests on its laurels. Its state-of-the-art vat cellar, built in 2012, allows each plot of its unique vineyard to express its full potential.
The vineyard is a mosaic of clay and gravel soils, planted with 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. The Merlot gives the wine a rich and velvety texture, while the Cabernet Franc adds freshness and complexity.
The wine is a stunning deep purple-black colour, with a nose that bursts with aromas of wild blueberries, chocolate-covered cherries, warm plums, lilacs, damp soil, cardamom, cloves and iron. It is medium to full-bodied on the palate, with elegant and earthy flavours supported by soft tannins and balanced acidity. The finish is long and minerally, leaving you wanting more.
