Description

From the lesser-known Gaillac region of Southwest France, Domaine d’Escausses presents their Cuvée des Drilles 2022, a vibrant red blend primarily of indigenous Duras (around 75%) and Fer (Braucol). This wine pours a bright, appealing red, offering an immediately inviting nose of bright peppery notes, hints of Seville orange, and bitter cherry. On the palate, it's supple and juicy, bursting with crunchy dark fruit flavors and a persistent peppery spice that makes it remarkably quaffable and a fantastic choice for summer BBQs or charcuterie, even served slightly chilled. At around 12.5% ABV, this sustainably farmed, unfined, and vegan-friendly wine beautifully showcases the unique character of Gaillac.
