Domaine Gayda Chemin de Moscou Pays d'Oc 2014 150cl

Description

Chemin de Moscou comes from old vines of Syrah - 60%, Grenache - 35% and 5% Cinsault grown on the estate's terraced vineyards which have been cultivated since Roman times.

Deep purple, almost opaque in colour with an expressive nose of black fruits, pepper, cinnamon, spice and violets. A seductive palate of dark hedgerow fruits, very open and welcoming with an explosion of fruit and spice. Mineral undertones.

"A very traditional Southern French blend of mainly Syrah, Grenache and Cinsault, this rivals some of the bigger names of the Languedoc for power and finesse. Its rounded combination of rich, ripe fruits has enough structure to improve over the years. But drink now with rare roast beef or steak-frites." (Terry Kirby, The Independent, 19 Oct 2014).

"Deep crimson. Rich and refined. Not overdone and very appetising. A hint of salt and treacle. Very suave and polished. Quite rich but very appetising too. Good to see this important wine evolving with the times. Good freshness.

17 Points."

(Jancis Robinson, J R Purple Pages, August 2017)
