Description

Felton Road is totally organic and biodynamic and has been across the three Bannockburn vineyards since 2005 and certified by Demeter in 2009. The viticultural regime is purportedly making a significant difference to the health and strength of their vines over many of their neighbouring vineyards. Faint bouquet of primary fruits and spice and on the palate a dramatic rich and textural feel with concentrated boysenberry, spice, cherry jam and toast. The flavours in this young wine complete rather than mingle as this wine will need some years to open and fully integrate.

Felton Road

Considerable research by Stewart Elms in 1991 identified the north facing slopes at the end of Felton Road, Bannockburn as being one of the warmest and most ideal sites in Central Otago for the growing and production of premium wine. The three different soils in the area are free draining with low fertility characteristics, and combined with the unique climate, are ideal for the production of premium quality Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling.

The region's cool climate, marked by cold winters and warm, dry summers, along with its varied soils, creates ideal conditions for viticulture. The area is especially celebrated for its world-class Pinot Noir, known for its deep, vibrant flavours, complex aromas, and elegant structure. It also produces high-quality whites, including Riesling and Chardonnay, which exhibit crisp acidity, rich fruit characteristics, and a mineral edge.
