A modern style of Rioja; this estate is a staff favourite and the three wines chosen are a great representation of what they’re all about. 2 bottles each of the following:
Tempranillo Blanco 2019 Murillo de Río Leza (La Rioja) is the cradle of the Tempranillo Blanco varietal. This variety was discovered in 1988 in the town in which Paco Garcia's bodega resides. Ultimately, the wine shows a unique bouquet of lemon and orange blossom followed by pineapple and banana inflections. Hints of mint, cedar, and subtle minerality caress the palate.
Rioja Crianza 2018 Prominent fruit on the nose – plump, sweet notes and very well-placed oak. The palate is cushioned, extremely rounded and pleasingly chewy. It has generous fruit and the tannins are very juicy.
Rioja Seis 2019 Six months in French oak barrels (‘seis’ being Spanish for ‘six’). This young wine retains the fruitiness and freshness of the Tempranillo grapes. Youthful with an aromatic profusion of strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and violets. On the palate, it is round and full of loads of fresh red fruit, floral tones, and sweetness
