Description

The Primeiras Vinhas Alvarinho Vinho Verde is 85% fermented in stainless steel and 15% in oak. In the glass, the wine is pale yellow with a bit of a greenish hint, which his youthful nature still betrays. The wine has an aromatic nose with minerals and a hint of citrus that slowly unfolds in the glass. The flavour is full-bodied, fresh and complex with great final complexity.

"Textured with velvet mouthfeel, powerful finish but will definitely improve with a little bottle age. As always from this winery, great value."

Soalheiro Wine

In 1974, João António Cerdeira and his parents decided to break from tradition and plant a full parcel as a continuous vineyard of Alvarinho. This parcel was called ’Soalheiro’, meaning ‘sunny’, referring to its location, exposed to sun all day long. Since this first innovation the Cerdeira family has been linked to the development of Alvarinho cultivation in Melgaço. Today, third-generation family members have embraced this spirit of innovation.

Minho

Minho, located in the northwest of Portugal, is renowned for its unique and refreshing wines, shaped by its temperate maritime climate and lush, green landscape. The region is particularly famous for Vinho Verde, a light, crisp, and slightly effervescent white wine known for its vibrant acidity and fresh citrus flavours. Vinho Verde is made from a variety of indigenous grapes, including Alvarinho, Loureiro, and Trajadura. Minho also produces charming reds and rosés with bright fruit notes and lively character.
