The 2015 vintage in the Rhone is already considered the best since 2010, although it is said to be stylistically more powerful. In fact, Chateauneuf du Pape received more sunshine in 2015 than in 2010 and 2011. Jebb Dunnuck of the Wine Advocate has already described it as an ‘exceptional vintage.'
70-year-old grenache 90% and 50-year-old mourvèdre 10%.
20-22 months in French oak foudres (60 hl), bottled without filtration or fining. Onlyreleased after 2 years barrel maturation.
"Loaded with Grenache charm, the 2015 Châteauneuf du Pape Piedlong is more upfront and straight-up sexy, with tons of sweet strawberry, incense and garrigue aromas and flavors. This full-bodied, powerful, yet elegant 2015 should drink well for 10-15 years. 93-95 Points." ( Jeb Dunnuck, eRobertparker.com, October 2016)
