The name says it all: \"big gulp\" is precisely the register this wine operates in. The nose offers dark blackberry, tangy damson, dusty cherry, raspberry, spice and a curl of thyme and rosemary, with the whole-bunch component adding a pleasing herbal-earthy undercurrent. On the palate it is rounded, with sweet and mature tannins, while its balanced acidity imparts freshness and vivacity. At 14% it carries more weight than you might expect from something this breezy, but there is no heaviness here.
