Borgogno Langhe Freisa 2016
Description
Borgogno needs very little introduction, this historic estate sat right in the centre of the Barolo since 1761 has always produced benchmark traditional Barolo.
This beautiful red is made from Friesa, a native grape found only in Northern Italy that is a distant cousin of Nebbiolo. It has a fragrant fruit-driven nose with aromas of red fruit, strawberry and rose. The wine is fresh and light-bodied with grip and good length. Great with salami and other charcuterie or something like roast veal chop, and penne with pork and fennel seeds.
