Founded in 1975 by Chantal Lescure and Xavier Machard de Gramont, Domaine Chantal Lescure is a family owned estate owned today by their two sons: Aymeric and Thibault Machard de Gramont. Harvesting 18 hectares of vines in controlled appellation of origin, Domaine Chantal Lescure extends from Chambolle-Musigny

in Côte de Nuits to Meursault in Côte de Beaune. In 1996, the date of Chantal Lescure's death, Aymeric Machard de Gramont then took over the estate.

The whole organisation of the estate, and especially how to work the vines were then questioned and examined with huge amounts of work in the vineyard and the cellar resulting. François Chavériat was hired as cellar master and now directs the field to agrobiology since 1997.

Since 2009, the estate is BIO (organically) certified and practises wholly Biodynamic practises both in the Vineyard and the winery.

The wines from Chantal Lescure are produced without outside interference and with the greatest respect for nature. Grapes are harvested manually at optimum maturity and are not crushed after de-stemming. They are then moved into the fermentation tanks by gravity. After a few days of cold maceration and a light pigeage, natural yeasts begin the semi-carbonic fermentation, after which the grapes are pressed and the juice is aged on lees for 16 to 20 months in the estate’s cold cellars. The result is a profound expression of terroir.

The Cote de Beaune Rouge Clos des Topes Bizot is sourced from 3 hectares, the vines were planted in 1960, facing east, on the hill of Beaune. The vines only yield 35-40hl / hectare. Always late harvested and sorted by hand. De-stemming, but not pressing precedes a few days of gentle maceration. Tanking is all done by gravity. Spontaneous alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks.

This fresh wine is vinified in tanks rather than wood to retain the bright strawberry fruit flavors. It is elegant, light and has good acidity.
