Domaine Patrick Javillier Meursault Les Tillets 2016, 75cl
Domaine Patrick Javillier is located in the village of Meursault. Meursault, in the heart of Burgundy, is one of the most important viticultural villages of the Côte d'Or. The culture of the vine first appeared in Burgundy in the 1st century AD. It wasn't until the 13th century however that viticulture appeared in Meursault, thanks in large part to the monks of the Cîteaux. Located in the southern half of the Côte de Beaune, the vineyard of Meursault covers 600 hectares of vine. Producing in particular white wines of great renown from the grape variety Chardonnay; wines from the village are classified under the appellations of Burgundy, Meursault and Meursault 1er cru.
Tillet was a kind of medieval lime tree that was found surrounding vineyards. Les Tillets is above Meursault near the mountain. This wine comes from six parcels of the same vineyard. The age of the vines is from 30 to 70 ans
The nose is expressive, marked by aromas of white flowers, yellow and white fruit as well as lightly spicy notes. The nose is complex with great elegance. The palate is round with lovely vivacity and excellent aromatic freshness as well as minerality. This is a wine with a great deal of finesse and persistence on the palate that doesn’t conceal its power. Elegant and linear, its style is between a classic Meursault and a Puligny-Montrachet.
This wine pairs well with fish, grilled or with a light sauce, as well as white meats.
