Description

The Sancerre White is made wholly from the Sauvignon Blanc grape variety. The grapes are always harvested at peak maturity, which will enable the development of aromas of fresh cut grass, white flowers, citrus and exotic fruits, infused throughout with the typical Sancerre elegance and mineral character.

Enjoy as an aperitif or with seafood, oysters, smoked fish or foie gras. Splendid with Goat's cheese.

The Dezat family is one of the oldest wine-growing families in Sancerre. References to the family can be found in records dating as far back as 1550. André Dezat took over the family vineyards in 1948 and became actively involved in promoting the wines of Sancerre. In the 1970's, he was joined by his sons, Louis and Simon. Now his grandson, Firmin, takes on the domaine and in an organic direction, keeping it a family business.

The Domaine modernised with new facilities and gained new impetus, particularly in terms of the production of wines from Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé. Firmin chose to qualify for the Ministry of Agriculture and Food’s High Environmental Value (HVE) certification, and will soon be certified organic.

The domaine's Sancerre vineyard comprises of 8 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc with 4 hectares dedicated to Pinot Noir. Vines are over 50 years old.

Arnaud et Stephanie Dezat

In the Dezat family, the vine is in the blood, with winegrower ancestors dating back to the 15th century! In 1948, Stéphanie and Arnaud's grandfather André took over the family business. He became a key figure in Sancerre, greatly contributing to the reputation of the appellation. His two sons took up the torch in the 1970s, modernizing and expanding the estate, acquiring vines in AOC Pouilly Fumé, then in AOC Menetou-Salon. In 2020 Stéphanie and Arnaud founded a new estate.

Loire Valley

The Loire Valley in France is a prestigious wine region renowned for its diverse wines and picturesque landscapes. Stretching along the Loire River, it benefits from a varied climate and a range of soil types, ideal for viticulture. It is particularly famous for its white wines, including the crisp and mineral-rich Sauvignon Blanc from Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé, and the aromatic Chenin Blanc from Vouvray and Saumur. The area also produces excellent reds, such as the light and fruity Cabernet Franc from Chinon and Bourgueil. Rosé and sparkling wines, like Crémant de Loire, add to the diversity of the region. With its rich winemaking heritage, varied terroirs, and high-quality wines, the Loire Valley offers an exceptional experience for wine enthusiasts seeking both classic and innovative wines.
