As a Trainee Manager, you will be actively involved in the day-to-day running of the business. Responsibilities will include:
Driving sales and providing exceptional customer service
Assisting with store operations and stock management
Accepting deliveries and replenishing shelves
Supporting the organisation of wine tasting events and wine club
Conducting in-store tastings and representing the business at events
Participating in a variety of other ad hoc tasks as needed
Sales Skills: Develop confidence selling across multiple channels (in-store, online, phone, email and tastings)
WSET Support: After six months, you’ll be eligible for sponsorship up to WSET Level 4
Stock & Cellar Management: Learn the operational backbone of running a wine shop
Logistics: Understand the movement and handling of stock
Merchandising & Displays: Get creative with shop presentation
Marketing: Gain experience in wine writing and social media content
Buying: Join team tastings and learn to assess wine quality
Be highly motivated with a genuine enthusiasm for wine
Deliver outstanding customer service with a warm, approachable manner
Be eager to learn and take on new challenges
Thrive in a small, collaborative team
Ideally hold WSET Level 3 or be working towards it
You’ll have opportunities to meet producers, regularly taste new wines and work directly with winemakers, making this an excellent foundation for a long-term career in the wine trade.
Requirements:
A valid UK driving licence
Availability for evening and weekend shifts (40 hours/week)
Proof of eligibility to work in the UK
