Description

This is 100% Rubin - an indigenous Bulgarian red grape variety, created in 1944 through crossbreeding of Syrah & Nebbiolo and considered to be one of the country’s best local red grapes. 

In 2014 Petar Georgiev and Radostin Milkov started their own project. After gaining enough
experience in various places around the world including the USA, New Zealand, China, Austria and
Malta the two friends began working on the Bulgarian stage bringing in a bunch of fresh ideas. They
decided it was high time that local varieties like Мavrud and Rubin should get the attention they
deserve both by the wide public and the wine experts.
 

40% of the wine is aged for 10 months in Bulgarian oak barrels, 60 % in used French oak barrels. 

Pronounced red fruit, raspberry and black cherry aromas in the nose, added to be an elegant palate, medium-to-full bodied with medium tannins and intense notes of dark chocolate, spices, vanilla, lovely long finish
