Description

The wines of Pyramid Valley are born in the dramatic limestone and clay derived soils and slopes of the estate farm in Waikari, North Canterbury. This high-altitude site that is home to some of the most characterful Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines in the world.

Low Burn Estate Pinot Noir comes from the former Lowburn Ferry vineyard in Central Otago, planted in 2000 on a gentle north-facing slope with some of the oldest Pinot vines in the region, many on their own roots.

Organically farmed loess over deep silts and lime deposits gives a Pinot of floral, wild-thyme lift with black cherry and plum fruit. Silky and supple, with fine, velvety tannins and a long, savoury finish, it shows the sunnier, more generous face of Pyramid Valley: seductive now, with the depth to reward a few years in the cellar.
