Deep ruby in the glass, this is Morgon at its most elegant and age-worthy. Old vines of 75 years and more on a small plot of granite and schist give this wine real depth and intensity. The nose is lifted and floral -- iris, violet and rose petal -- before red and dark fruits take hold. On the palate it hasblack cherry, blackberry and firm, well-judged juicy tannins, underpinned by a savoury, rocky minerality and a dry, precise finish that signals a long life ahead. Cellar it, or decant generously.
