Description

Nestled in the centre of Margaux village, Chateau Marquis de Terme boasts a prestigious status as one of the Grands Crus Classes of 1855. Its 40 hectares of land are home to the finest grape varieties of Medoc: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. The wine reveals a complex, dense and expressive aroma of blackcurrant, blackberry and pepper. The palate is smooth and creamy, with flavours of blackcurrant, cocoa and clove adding depth and complexity. The tannins are firm, powerful and velvety, creating a harmonious balance that gives the wine a silky, delicate and fresh character.

Chateau Marquis de Terme

The story of Marquis de Terme begins in 1762, when Mademoiselle Ledoux d'Emplet married François de Peguilhan, Marquis de Terme, giving him as dowry the estate which would henceforth bear his name. In 1855 the estate was classified Grand Crus Classé. In 1935 the property was purchased by the Sénéclauze family who still own it today, they appointed Ludovic David as director. Under his management many innovations were brought in to enhance the exceptional Marquis de Terme wines.

Bordeaux

Bordeaux, one of the most prestigious wine regions in the world, is located in southwestern France and is celebrated for its exceptional wines. It benefits from a temperate maritime climate, influenced by the nearby Atlantic Ocean, providing ideal conditions for viticulture. It is particularly renowned for its red wines, primarily blends of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, offering rich, complex flavours and excellent ageing potential. Notable sub-regions include Médoc, Saint-Émilion, and Pomerol. Bordeaux also produces exquisite white wines, both dry, from Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, and sweet, from the Sauternes and Barsac areas. The region's unique terroir, combined with centuries-old winemaking traditions, results in wines of unparalleled quality and distinction. Bordeaux remains a must-visit destination for wine enthusiasts seeking world-class wines and a rich viticultural heritage.
