Clear, shiny, ruby red with cherry highlights. The varietal aromas of the Merlot express themselves with notes of redcurrants and black cherries. The palate shows morello cherry, liqurice and final lick of vanilla. With tannins that are noticeable. but smooth, Drink now or age for 5- 8 years.

The Bellanger family produces fine wines on an outstanding site in the heart of Entre-Deux-mers region, not far from Saint Emilion. Since 1976 the Bellanger family has been helping to revive this exceptional heritage and cultivate the Roquefort spirit, blending a timeless way of life with authenticity.

Assemblage: 90% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon Maturation: 2/3 of the production in oak barrels for 12 months

'Purplish crimson with a shaded rim. Dense and ambitious. Still a bit of tannin in evidence but every bit as good as many wines with grander appellations. (I assume this Entre-Deux-Mers wine is AOC Bordeaux; my bottle does not have a back label.) Chateau Roquefort

In 1976, Jean and Christiane Bellanger fell in love with Château Roquefort and breathed new life into this magnificent Entre-Deux-Mers vineyard, gradually replanting the vineyard and working to quickly adopt the best winemaking methods. Their son Frédéric is driven by this same family energy: he took over the reins of Château Roquefort in 1995 and continued developing the estate, which now covers 240 hectares.
