Dog Point vineyards are certified organic under the BioGro New Zealand Programme which is an independent certification process established to promote environmentally friendly, sustainable and responsible practices. These organic philosophies drive our approach to wine making and help ensure the vines are at their best for next year's harvest.

A ripe and citrus driven Chardonnay. Characteristic biscuit and oatmeal secondary characters and mild flinty notes contrast and compliment the fruit.  Fresh, vibrant and acidic.  A modest amount of new oak delivering subtle char and phenolic structure to the wine. An intensely flavoured yet youthful and lively vintage for Dog Point Chardonnay.

Dog Point

Ivan and Margaret Sutherland were among the earliest Marlborough wine industry pioneers who planted grapes in Marlborough in the late 1970s. Along with James & Wendy Healy they returned to a more 'hands-on' approach launching the Dog Point label in 2004. Today, with succession plans in place, the next generation of the Sutherland family are now running the day-to-day operations. The property is sensitively planted with Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grown under organic principles.

Marlborough

Marlborough, located on New Zealand's South Island, is the country's most well known wine region, celebrated for its famous Sauvignon Blanc. It benefits from a cool, maritime climate with ample sunshine and well-drained soils, creating ideal conditions for viticulture. Marlborough's Sauvignon Blanc, known for its vibrant acidity, intense tropical fruit flavours, and distinctive grassy notes. The area also excels in producing high-quality Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, offering rich, complex profiles with balanced acidity and fine textures. Combining innovative winemaking techniques with a focus on quality, Marlborough provides a dynamic and renowned wine experience.
