Description

Deep black colour with purple reflections. Its nose is intense, we perceive notes of liquorice, spice and blackcurrant in a coherent fashion. The structure is very fine but full bodied, with tannin being supple and integrated. The delivery of flavour is frank, it is marked by flavours of black fruit compote, pepper and with an earthy, savoury character. The tannins are ripe and smooth, built more on length and balance than on thickness. This wine has all the hallmark characteristics of a wine from Cahors.

This wine will do wonders on your summer tables by accompanying beef skewers with satay, grilled lamb chops, half-cooked duck liver or an assortment of cheeses.

Serve at 17-18°c. Ageing potential 8 to 12 years.

100% Malbec. The vines are rooted on a clay-limestone hillside of the Causse de Cahors facing south. The soils are very stony on a steep slope. It is one of the highest vineyards of the Appellation (300m).

"A ripe wine, full of spice and tannins as well as black fruits, this has richness and fine balancing acidity. The wine comes from a protected vineyard amphiteater, giving ripe black fruits. Drink this wine from 2026."

Pech de Jammes

Château Pech de Jammes comes from a vineyard of less than 10 hectares, so production is extremely small with quality always the focus. The vineyard’s owner, Thomas Chardard, asked Bertrand-Gabriel Vigouroux to look after all the technical aspects of viticulture and winemaking. The wines elaborated from Malbec, or Côt, display the classic hallmarks of Malbec from Cahors: dark, deep, round and silky.
