Domaine Le Colombier (Jean-Lois Mourre)

Domaine Le Colombier has been in the Mourre family since the early 1960s, and has been run by Jean-Louis Mourre, a trained geologist, since 1995. From around 30 hectares near the Dentelles de Montmirail, farmed organically, he makes Vacqueyras, Côtes du Rhône, Ventoux and IGP Méditerranée. Grenache leads, supported by Syrah and Mourvèdre. The Vacqueyras Tradition sees no oak, preserving ripe, spicy, generous fruit, while Cuvée G, an equal Grenache and Syrah blend honouring his father, has subtle oak ageing.

Southern Rhone

The Southern Rhône, a renowned wine region in southeastern France, is celebrated for its diverse and robust wines. Benefiting from a Mediterranean climate with hot summers and mild winters, it is ideal for viticulture. The Southern Rhône is famous for its blends, particularly from Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre, producing rich, full-bodied reds with complex flavours of dark fruit, spices, and herbs. Châteauneuf-du-Pape is the most prestigious appellation, known for its powerful and age-worthy wines. It also excels in producing aromatic whites and refreshing rosés. With its varied terroir and traditional winemaking techniques, the Southern Rhône offers a captivating wine experience for enthusiasts seeking high-quality and flavourful wines.
