Chateau Margaux

Originally known as “La Mothe de Margaux”, the estate as we know it today was set up by the Lestonnac family in 1572. By the end of the 18th century a third of the 265-hectare estate was dedicated to vines, this is still the case today. Château Margaux became the epitome for the art of winemaking. The estate was First Growth Classified in 1855 and has maintained its position in a competitive market since then under the Mentzelopoulos family.
