Description

A lively interplay of fresh cherries, wild herbs, and freshly snapped twigs captivates the senses, while spiced tea and rosewood add an alluring depth. The palate, mouthwatering and lifted, tingles with an electric acidity that ignites a burst of tart cranberries and wild red berries. Savory notes emerge, leading to a subtle earthy finish that lingers. Drink 2025 to 2040 - Wine Enthusiast

Bruno Rocca

The Rocca family has lived in the township of Barbaresco since 1834. Their ancestor Francesco (1834-1894) was defined as “a farmer” who also ran vineyards with his brother. A century later, in 1958, Francesco Rocca (1907-1978), nephew of the first Francesco, moved the family to the southern most point of the zone of Rabajà. In late 1970s Francesco Bruno began making wine bottled under the family name. The wines took off internationally in 1990s and they expanded beyond Barbaresco to produce other great wines of Piedmont: Langhe Nebbiolo, Barbera d’Alba, Dolcetto, and Chardonnay. Today, Bruno Rocca’s children Luisa and Francesco work alongside him in the family business.

Piedmont

Piedmont or Piemonte, located in northwestern Italy, is renowned for its prestigious and diverse wines. The region's varied climate and rich soils, particularly in the Langhe and Monferrato areas, are ideal for viticulture. It is famous for its robust reds, especially Barolo and Barbaresco, both made from the Nebbiolo grape, known for their complex aromas, rich tannins, and ageing potential. It also excels in Barbera, producing wines with vibrant acidity and cherry notes, and Dolcetto, offering fruit-forward, approachable reds. On the white side, Gavi, made from the Cortese grape, is known for its crisp, refreshing character. Piemonte’s blend of traditional winemaking techniques and modern innovations offers a rich and sophisticated wine experience.
