The slight incline and the gravelly surface ensure good drainage and even ripening of the grapes. This is a terroir that offers great value. Olivier Leflaive Volnay wines have an ‘elegant’ character, to sum them up in one word. They display red fruit and violet aromas, and charm with their roundness, whether their tannins are soft or firm. This is a refined and graceful wine, a true ambassador of the Côte de Beaune.
