Description

Produced from vines on granite soil, this Muscadet is elevated from the unique variety that is, Melon de Bourgogne. A grape with a soft character, which allows it to be a true expression of the terroir. The melon de bourgogne grape matures slightly later than usual, resulting in an ample and harmonious and crisp finish. Muscadet (Melon) is a wine for those who love anything-but-fruity wines. They are lean, green, and have a fascinating almost saline-like quality to the taste. Serve it with shellfish, seafood, fish, or as an aperitif. Classic status for a reason, absolutely sublime with fresh oysters.

Jeremie Huchet

Four generations of the Huchet family have run Domaine de la Chauviniere. The cellars of the old monastery were bought by Jeremie’s great grandfather Joseph Arnaud. His son-in-law Constant Huchet (Jeremie’s grandfather) took over the vineyard of 6 Ha in 1945. He formed the last plantings of young vines until he was 86 years old. Yves, Jeremie’s father, joined the vineyard in 1971 and in 2001, Jerermie took his place at their side.
