Description

A limited edition Sauvignon produced from some of the oldest vines on this organically-run estate. The wine is dry, beautifully well balanced and rounded with subtle aromas of white flowers leading on to a palate revealing citrus fruit flavours underpinned by zingy acidity. A nice stepping stone from the restrained French style with a nod to the flamboyance of the New Zealand style. The ideal companion for shellfish and, indeed, most seafood.

Sauvignon de Touraine from good producers like Domaine Octavie is often seen as an affordable alternative to the more illustrious and expensive whites of Sancerre and Pouilly Fume.

Domaine Octavie

Isabelle and Noë Rouballay represent the 5th generation, since 1885, to succeed one another on the family farm in order to pass on their passion for wine. The 30 hectares of vines are located on the renowned terroir of the commune of Oisly: the preferred terroir for Sauvignon. The beautiful harmony of sand, flint and clay in the soils produces wines of character, aromatic, warm and rich in substance.

Loire Valley

The Loire Valley in France is a prestigious wine region renowned for its diverse wines and picturesque landscapes. Stretching along the Loire River, it benefits from a varied climate and a range of soil types, ideal for viticulture. It is particularly famous for its white wines, including the crisp and mineral-rich Sauvignon Blanc from Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé, and the aromatic Chenin Blanc from Vouvray and Saumur. The area also produces excellent reds, such as the light and fruity Cabernet Franc from Chinon and Bourgueil. Rosé and sparkling wines, like Crémant de Loire, add to the diversity of the region. With its rich winemaking heritage, varied terroirs, and high-quality wines, the Loire Valley offers an exceptional experience for wine enthusiasts seeking both classic and innovative wines.
