Description

Pelago joined the list of the most sought-after Italian wines in the world in 1997 in its first year of production when it won the Best Red Wine Trophy at the International Wine Challenge in London.

Pelago is a blend of Montepulciano and Cabernet Sauvignon. It is a wine which retains the style and personality of Montepulciano while broadening its aromatic profile and complexity by adding qualities of the Bordeaux varieties. To maintain high standards of quality it is produced only in excellent vintages.

Impenetrable ruby red colour with purple tints. On the nose, intense, clean and refined aromas are released: spicy fragrances of coffee, black pepper, liquorice and tobacco open out on a background of grass and hay, typical of Cabernet. In the mouth, the impact is of fruits of the forest, vanilla and mineral aromas, and strong but developed tannins with taste sensations in harmony with the wine’s full body.

Umani Ronchi

Founded in 1957 by Gino Umani Ronchi and now run by the Bianchi-Bernetti Family, Umani Ronchi are perhaps one of the best-known names in Italian winemaking. Farming multiple sites in both the Marche and Abruzzo regions of eastern Italy, they are committed to sustainability and have achieved organic certification for several of their bottlings. Umani Ronchi make sublime wines from mainly indigenous varietals across all styles and price points, as evidenced by their success.

Le Marche

Le Marche, located on Italy’s Adriatic coast, is known for its diverse and high-quality wines. The region benefits from a range of climates and soils, from coastal areas to rolling hills, ideal for viticulture. It is particularly celebrated for its whites, such as Verdicchio, which is renowned for its crisp acidity, minerality, and notes of citrus and almond. The area also produces notable reds, including Montepulciano and Sangiovese, which offer rich, full-bodied flavours with good structure and aging potential. With its combination of traditional and modern winemaking techniques, Le Marche provides a distinctive and varied wine experience.
