This Green Spot is a testament to the Mitchell’s Spot whiskeys’ love for wine. It is a rich and spicy whiskey that has been triple-distilled in pot stills at Midleton and matured in bourbon and sherry casks. But what makes it truly special is the final touch of ageing it for a year in barrels that once held Zinfandel, a luscious red wine from the renowned Chateau Montelena in Napa Valley, California. This whiskey pays tribute to the Irish heritage of Jim Barrett, who bought Montelena in the 1970s and made it famous. It offers a complex and satisfying taste, with notes of marzipan and toasted oak complementing the fruity and full-bodied pot-still character.
