Description

Idle Assembly is a skilled blend of rums aged between five and twenty years in white oak casks that have previously held American Bourbon and represent "a tour of the Caribbean in a bottle" from the finest producers and ingredients; aged rums from Trinidad and Tobago, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, and Panama.

While maturation has taken place across the Caribbean where notes and nuances are first developed – it is the microclimate of Barranquilla that lends its heat and humidity to the ageing process, producing the character and softness of the rum.

The result is a limited production rum rooted in the traditions of Hispanic rum making. Molasses fermentation, column distillation, aged in white oak bourbon for many years in a unique microclimate. The final product, Idle Assembly Rum, is dry, oaky, smooth, and characterful, with no added sugar or colouring, gently rounding on the palate, appealing to connoisseurs and first-time rum drinkers alike.

Idle Assembly

Idle Assembly Rum is inspired by time spent in Dunmore Town on Harbour Island in the Bahamas, where one of the founders, David Flint Wood, has lived for almost thirty years. There used to be a sign at Harbour Island’s Government Dock, a list of rules and regulations, including that there should be: NO LOAFING OR IDLE ASSEMBLY. This is where the name comes from.
