Description

A full, complex nose of cherry and ripe plum over tea leaves, cedar and Mediterranean herbs, with dried flowers, black olive and a hint of truffle in the background. Defined and deep on the palate, with polished tannins and many layers of nuance. Harmonious, long and built for ageing.

From the 300-hectare Ygay Estate at the southernmost point of Rioja Alta, on calcareous clay soils at 320 to 485 metres. A blend of 82% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano and 8% Mazuelo, fermented separately in stainless steel and aged for 26 months in American oak.

Serve with slow-roast lamb, game or aged cheeses.
