Description

A wine of real poise and precision, the Ceretto Barbaresco Bernadot 2020 opens with a lustrous, youthful ruby and a nose of dried cherry, wild strawberry, tobacco and cedar that gradually unfolds to reveal subtle incense and floral perfume. On the palate it has that hallmark Treiso lightness of touch, yet there is nothing slight about it: concentrated and finely structured, with beautifully chiselled tannins and a thread of inner sweetness that emerges with time in the glass. The ripe, sun-drenched fruit of the 2020 vintage is there, but kept in check by a cool, etched focus that speaks clearly of the site. Long, elegant and composed, this will reward patience and drink well through to 2036 or beyond.
