Vignobles Brumont

Alain Brumont is a pioneering winemaker who transformed Madiran’s reputation, elevating the Tannat grape to world-class status. His family estate, Château Bouscassé, and his flagship Château Montus, acquired in 1980, showcase his visionary approach. By introducing Bordeaux-style techniques such as new oak ageing and high-density planting, Brumont crafted wines with remarkable depth and longevity. His vineyards, with clay-limestone and pebbly soils, provide the perfect terroir for his signature, structured yet refined expressions of Tannat.

Château Montus and Château Bouscassé produce some of the finest wines in South-West France, including Montus Prestige and Bouscassé Vieilles Vignes, known for their concentration and ageing potential. Brumont also champions lesser-known varieties, producing complex whites from Petit Courbu and Petit Manseng. His unwavering commitment to quality has cemented his legacy, making Madiran a serious player on the global fine wine stage.
