Dugois

Domaine Dugois is a respected family-run winery located in the Jura region of France, an area known for its distinctive wines and unique terroir. Established in the 1970s by Michel Dugois, the estate has grown to be a significant producer in the region, now managed by Michel's son, Philippe Dugois, who continues the family tradition with a deep respect for the land and local winemaking heritage.
The vineyard spans around 10 hectares, primarily planted with the classic Jura varietals: Savagnin, Chardonnay, Poulsard, and Trousseau. Domaine Dugois practices sustainable viticulture, with a focus on maintaining the health of the vineyard and the surrounding ecosystem. The soils, rich in marl and limestone, contribute to the characteristic minerality and complexity found in their wines.
Domaine Dugois is particularly known for its production of traditional Jura wines, including Vin Jaune, a unique, oxidative wine made from Savagnin, aged under a veil of yeast for several years.

Jura

Jura, a small yet distinctive wine region in eastern France, is celebrated for its unique wines and picturesque landscapes. Nestled between Burgundy and Switzerland, it benefits from a cool climate and varied soils, ideal for producing a diverse range of wines. The region is particularly renowned for its oxidative whites, such as Vin Jaune, made from the Savagnin grape and aged under a layer of yeast, resulting in complex, nutty, and slightly tangy flavours. It also excels in producing fresh and vibrant white wines from Chardonnay, as well as light, earthy reds from Pinot Noir, Trousseau, and Poulsard. The region's sparkling wines, Crémant du Jura, are made using traditional methods and are known for their finesse and elegance. With its blend of traditional winemaking techniques and unique terroirs, Jura offers a fascinating wine experience for enthusiasts seeking distinctive and high-quality wines.
