Description

If you want to taste the essence of Bourgogne’s terroirs, look no further than the Bourgogne Côte d’Or appellation. It covers the prestigious Côte de Beaune and the Côte de Nuits, where some of the world’s finest wines are made. The Cuvee des Forgets perfectly exemplifies this appellation’s charm and elegance. It comes from clay soils in the Côte de Beaune, which give it a rich and round texture. The aromas are enticing and complex, with ripe white and yellow fruits, fragrant flowers and hints of toast. The palate is lively and balanced, with crisp acidity and a long finish. This is a wine that will delight your senses with its freshness and expressiveness.

Patrick Javillier

Founded on just 2ha in Meursault in 1945 by Raymond Javillier, he handed the estate over to his son Patrick in 1974 when he received his diploma in wine studies. Since then, Partick has continued to expand the estate, now the 3rd generation have joined the business. They use winemaking methods that allows the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir they grow to express the diversity of the terroirs the Domaine covers in the Côte de Beaune.

Burgundy

Burgundy, located in eastern France, is one of the world’s most renowned wine regions, celebrated for its exceptional Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The region is divided into five main wine-producing areas: Chablis, Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune, Côte Chalonnaise, and Mâconnais. Burgundy’s complex terroir, characterised by diverse soils, microclimates, and slope orientations, plays a critical role in the distinctive characteristics of its wines. The region's classification system includes Grand Cru, Premier Cru, Village, and Regional appellations, reflecting the hierarchy of quality and location. Burgundy’s vineyards, many with centuries-old histories, produce wines that are revered for their elegance, depth, and expression of terroir. Key towns include Beaune, the region’s wine capital, and Dijon, known for its historical ties to the Dukes of Burgundy. Burgundy’s rich winemaking heritage, combined with its diverse range of wines, makes it a top destination for wine enthusiasts worldwide.
