Description

A fantastic Sauternes made from a blend of Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle. Drinking beautifully - it has an intense tropical fruit aroma with hints of pineapple, mango, apricot and honey. The taste is sweet, rich and balanced by fresh acidity. It can be enjoyed now or you can age it gracefully for years to come.

Chateau Filhot

Château Filhot is a prestigious winery located in the heart of Sauternes, Bordeaux, renowned for its exceptional sweet wines that embody the rich heritage and tradition of the region. Established in 1709 by Romain de Filhot, the estate has been owned by the same family for over three centuries, passing down a legacy of winemaking excellence.
The estate spans 350 hectares, with 62 hectares dedicated to vineyards planted on gravelly soils with clay and limestone subsoils—ideal for cultivating the classic Sauternes varieties of Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscadelle. The unique microclimate, influenced by the nearby Ciron River, encourages the development of "noble rot" (Botrytis cinerea), which concentrates the sugars and flavours in the grapes, creating the luscious, complex wines for which Sauternes is famed.

Bordeaux

Bordeaux, one of the most prestigious wine regions in the world, is located in southwestern France and is celebrated for its exceptional wines. It benefits from a temperate maritime climate, influenced by the nearby Atlantic Ocean, providing ideal conditions for viticulture. It is particularly renowned for its red wines, primarily blends of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, offering rich, complex flavours and excellent ageing potential. Notable sub-regions include Médoc, Saint-Émilion, and Pomerol. Bordeaux also produces exquisite white wines, both dry, from Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, and sweet, from the Sauternes and Barsac areas. The region's unique terroir, combined with centuries-old winemaking traditions, results in wines of unparalleled quality and distinction. Bordeaux remains a must-visit destination for wine enthusiasts seeking world-class wines and a rich viticultural heritage.
