Since 1912, Château Haut-Goujon is a family estate located in the appellations of Lalande de Pomerol and Montagne Saint-Émilion, near Bordeaux, Four generations have succeeded one another. Corinne Garder and her brother Mickaël with his wife, Valérie, continue to take care of the property and build on the work of their parents, Liliane and Henri Garde.
This 18 hectare-property benefits from terroirs: clay-sand-gravel for Lalande de Pomerol and clay-sand for Montagne Saint-Émilion.Over the years, the wines have continued to evolve. They fully express the potential of this atypical terroir. They are produced without added sulphites or with the minimum necessary so that their character and personality is fully revealed. Very aware of the property's impact on its surroundings, the owners have obtained environmental certification.
This 100% Merlot is made from grapes from vines aged on average 15 to 20 years old on clay, sand, and gravel soils. 20% is aged with new French oak with the other 80% aged in vats.
It is a wine with a dark ruby colour. A wine resolutely on fresh fruit, raspberry, blackcurrant, very open and powerful. A wine ready to drink with a very soft attack on very ripe fruits. The tannins are present but supple and also bring roundness.
