Description

A deep garnet with inky, near-black reflections, the Vendange opens with an intense and immediately inviting nose of ripe blackberry, fresh cherry and a whisper of dark plum, the fruit purity a hallmark of Maury's distinctive black schist soils. The palate is generous and luscious without being heavy, with juicy black cherry at the core, a pleasing lift of acidity keeping everything in balance, and a clean, sweet finish that lingers without cloying. Fermented from 100% Grenache Noir, mutage on the skins and a short tank ageing preserve the vivid freshness of the harvest rather than pushing into oxidative territory, making this a wonderfully approachable, fruit-forward vin doux naturel. Serve lightly chilled alongside a dark chocolate tart or a ripe fig and blue cheese board.
