Description

This wine is made with Garnacha Tinta from low-yielding,terraced vineyardslocated in la Plana de Gandesa. Once in the cellar, they combine two different wine making processes. A first, a cold maceration of grapes, to obtain all the Grenache fruitiness; and the second, a more traditional fermentation with riper grapes to achieve a more complex structure. Aged in 300 litre French oak barrels for 6 months.

Intense red, with violet hues. Tastes friendly with soft tannins, with outstanding red fruit and a spicy finish.

Edetaria

Joan Àngel Lliberia spent his childhood amongst vineyards, his undying passion for wine called him back to his origins to set up Edetària, in Terra Alta DO in the extreme south of Catalunya. Named after the ‘Via Edetana’, the old Roman trade route from Torotosa to Zaragoza that passed through the estate. Increasingly the region is being recognised for its potential to produce ‘Garnatxa’-based wines of equal quality to its more famous neighbours in the north.

Terra Alta

Terra Alta, located in the province of Tarragona in Catalonia, Spain, is a renowned wine region known for its rich viticultural heritage and stunning landscapes. With a winemaking tradition dating back to the Middle Ages, the region is particularly celebrated for its Garnacha (Grenache) wines, which are prized for their full-bodied character, intense fruit flavours, and balanced acidity. The Mediterranean climate, with its warm days and cool nights, combined with limestone-rich soils, provides ideal conditions for grape growing. In addition to Garnacha, Terra Alta produces high-quality white wines, especially from Garnacha Blanca, which are known for their aromatic complexity and freshness. Sustainable viticulture practices are increasingly embraced in the region, preserving both the land and the authenticity of its wines
