Oenops

Oenops wines was established in 2015 by the high profile wine producer Nikos Karatzas. He works as a negociant, sourcing indigenous and rare grape varieties grown on excellent terroir by passionate grape growers across Greece. He transforms these native grapes, such as Xinomavro, Limniona or Mavroudi, into fine wines at his winery in Drama. Here, he has concrete and stainless steel tanks, oak barrels and even amphorae at his disposal to make wines in the style he loves to drink. He embraces minimalist intervention, letting his grapes do the work. His range offers a brilliant introduction to the quality potential of Greek wines.

Crete

Crete has a long winemaking history dating back to antiquity, producing wines shaped by its warm Mediterranean climate and mountainous terrain. Winemakers across the island focus on indigenous grape varieties such as Vidiano, Liatiko, Kotsifali, and Vilana, often combining traditional methods with modern precision. The style ranges from vibrant, mineral-driven whites to structured sun-ripened reds with herbal complexity. Today a new generation of producers emphasizes quality terroir expression and sustainable viticulture helping Cretan wine recognition for distinctive character and authenticity.
