Description

"Deep garnet-purple in color, it has sprung to life since I last tasted it, prancing out of the glass with showy red currant jelly, black cherry compote and warm cassis notes plus hints of cinnamon toast, wilted roses, unsmoked cigars and fragrant earth. Full-bodied, the palate is rich and impactful, featuring layer upon layer of red and black fruits with loads of mineral sparks. The structure is rock-solid with firm, rugged tannins that are beginning to come into line with the flamboyant fruit, finishing with great length and a lively lift." 98 Points, Wine Advocate.

Promontory

The estate was obtained by the Harlan family in 2008, as they explored the wild terrain and worked the land they found a powerful geologic convergence, which had shaped its steep, rugged topography, and created the conditions for an altogether exotic winegrowing environment. Over time they found that the dramatic landscape - just beyond the edge of the known - would slowly change them, and ultimately inspire a new endeavour: Promontory.

Napa Valley

Napa Valley, located in Northern California, is one of the world's most renowned wine regions. Famous for its exceptional wine quality and beautiful landscapes, it benefits from a Mediterranean climate with warm days and cool nights, ideal for viticulture. Particularly celebrated for its full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon and rich Chardonnay, which are among the most sought-after wines globally, the region also produces notable Merlot, Pinot Noir, and Sauvignon Blanc, each reflecting the valley's diverse terroirs and microclimates. Historically, Napa Valley's winemaking roots date back to the 19th century, but it gained significant prominence in the 1970s with its success in international wine competitions.
