Quinta de la Rosa white has a very perfumed nose with citric and floral aromas. On the palate the wine is quite full bodied, very soft and seductive. It is an intense wine, full of flavour without any excesses, very beautiful and balanced with a long, fresh finish at the end.
The terroir in the Douro is still largely unexplored and by making wines with, harmony and equilibrium from our vineyards, we try to enable the grapes to express themselves in the bottle. The La Rosa style is to make well defined wines without too much extraction, tannin or oak.
Grapes from old vines local to the region and often used for making into white port – Viosinho (45%), Rabigato (20%), Códega do Larinho (30%) and Gouveio. (5%).
"The 2023 La Rosa Branco was produced with a blend of Viosinho, Rabigato, Arinto and Códega do Larinho, fermented in stainless steel and oak barrel and aged in used barrels for six months. It's fresh and fruit-driven, with aromas of white fruit and flowers, contained ripeness, 12% alcohol and good freshness. It's clean and easy to drink but with a more serious, austere and mineral mouthfeel than you expect at this price point. 14,500 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2024."
90 points.
