"Salwey's Grauburgunder Henkenberg GG opens with a deep, rich and intense yet pure and elegant, mineral-scented "Burgundian" bouquet of ripe seed fruits intertwined with just a hint of oak, toast and brioche and notes of crushed volcanic stones. On the palate, this is a linear, pure, fresh and refined Pinot Gris with substance grip and elegance as well as a long and tensioned finish with refreshing grip. I had this medium-bodied wine as a sample in May this year, and since then, it has remarkably improved. Not as rich and expansive as a grand cru can be, the 2019 Henkenberg has become an excellent and stimulating Pinot ready to be served with fish and white meat and whenever you'd also like to serve a Côteaux du Champagne. Drink to 2030.
92+ points."
