Vina Gonzalez

José Luis Gómez Bastías is the 5th generation to cultivate his family’s vineyards along the Maule River's south bank, in Chile’s 'rulo' region. Unlike many in Maule and Bio Bio, they’ve preserved their 200-year-old País bush vines, avoiding replanting with more popular international varietals. They uphold traditional farming and winemaking practices, respecting nature and treating agriculture as a way of life, not just a business. Their four hectares host fruit trees, wildlife, and sheep for natural fertilisation. In 2013, José Luis met agronomist Daniela Lorenzo, who joined him in the project and in life. Together, they focus on sustainable practices, preserving their land’s history while expanding and improving their vineyards.

Central Valley Region

The Central Valley Region in Chile, encompassing the Maipo, Rapel, Curicó, and Maule valleys, is the heart of the country’s wine industry. Known for its diverse terroirs and Mediterranean climate, this region produces a wide range of high-quality wines. Maipo Valley is famed for its elegant Cabernet Sauvignon, while Rapel Valley excels with robust Carmenère. Curicó and Maule Valleys are celebrated for their versatile red and white wines, including Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc. The Central Valley's combination of fertile soils, ideal climate, and innovative winemaking techniques makes it a cornerstone of Chile's wine production.
