Just 30 minutes from Vienna's city center and 10 minutes from the international airport, the Carnuntum wine-growing region stretches east of Vienna to the Slovakian border. At 910 hectares (2% of Austria's vineyard area), it is one of the smallest wine-growing regions. The Pitnauer family's vineyards (22 hectares in total) are located on gentle slopes in the surrounding Arbesthal hills around Göttlesbrunn.
