Description

100% Syrah, raised in large old oak barrels from vineyards just outside the Côte Rôtie AOP, clay and schist soils. Wonderfully lifted aromas of flowers and spice, bright cherry fruit, supple and mineral, smoke, very energetic, light to medium bodied but intense and charming, primary yet subtle, flavoursome; very good length. Quite amazing - not just a Côtes du Rhône!

"Some five-spice notes on the nose, a slight jamminess and freshness. A real hit of pepper on the start is then followed by a juicy mid palate and a real delicacy, fresh and with straight tannins. Really juicy and fine, elegant and long. Drink to 2032."

Alistair Cooper MW, jancisrobinson.com (November 2025)

"The 2024 Côtes du Rhône, a gourmand and attractive wine, reveals aromas of pepper, peony and violet. Medium-bodied, fresh and gourmand, it's framed by fine tannins and lively tension, concluding with an ethereal, persistent finish. Drink to 2034."

Domaine Jamet

Domaine Jamet lies on a plateau, known as "Le Vallin", on the steep slopes of the Côte-Rôtie hills, these are the wonderful terroirs that give their character to these glorious wines. Entering the storehouse, nature and simplicity seem to be the Jamet family's key words, focused on the artisanal nature of the place. This is where Jean-Paul, his wife Corinne and, more recently their elder son Loïc cultivate vines and wines with a passion.

Southern Rhone

The Southern Rhône, a renowned wine region in southeastern France, is celebrated for its diverse and robust wines. Benefiting from a Mediterranean climate with hot summers and mild winters, it is ideal for viticulture. The Southern Rhône is famous for its blends, particularly from Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre, producing rich, full-bodied reds with complex flavours of dark fruit, spices, and herbs. Châteauneuf-du-Pape is the most prestigious appellation, known for its powerful and age-worthy wines. It also excels in producing aromatic whites and refreshing rosés. With its varied terroir and traditional winemaking techniques, the Southern Rhône offers a captivating wine experience for enthusiasts seeking high-quality and flavourful wines.
