Description

Rkatsiteli fermented in qvevri with extended skin contact, giving a golden amber colour. The nose is wild honey, blossom and dried mango. Full-bodied yet properly dry, the palate is lively, with orange rind, dried apricot and a nutty, savoury minerality running through it. Unfined, unfiltered and made with minimal sulphur, it has real texture and richness at around 12 to 13% ABV. Very flexible with food, from salads and vegetable dishes through to roast meats.

Pheasant's Tears

Founded in 2007 by American artist and winemaker John Wurdeman and Georgian farmer Gela Patalishvili, Pheasant's Tears has become a leading name in the natural wine movement, known for producing wines that are deeply rooted in the history and culture of Georgia, the birthplace of wine.
Georgia is home to an 8,000-year-old winemaking tradition, and Pheasant's Tears is committed to honoring this heritage by using traditional methods, particularly the ancient qvevri technique. Qvevri are large clay vessels buried underground, where the wine ferments and ages naturally, often on its skins, seeds, and stems. This method produces wines with remarkable depth, structure, and a unique character that reflects the Georgian terroir.
