Description

This famous wine from our domain expresses noble and distinguished aromas with notes of citrus, beautiful minerality and toasted scents. The mouth is elegant and tonic with a very long persistence.

Ideal with grilled veal served with mushrooms, grilled saltwater fish and goat cheese.

Its name derives from "Pul" which means "marais": marsh. Puligny is on small pockets of water which prevent building of underground cellars.Sourced from multiple plots across the appellation, the variation from each plot combines to give elegance and richness to the wine.

100% Chardonnay, hand harvested, 18 months (with 6 months in stainless steel tank)100 % oak barrels (with 20% of new oak).

"This cuvée covers all the village vineyards of Puligny except Charmes and Trézin, and all supplied in grapes. Pale colour, some floral notes but also quite a full fruit driven bouquet. An excellent steely core to this Puligny, with plenty of fruit concentration, and just the right acidity."

"It shows a rather quiet, restrained fruit character as well as great harmony and seamlessness. Fermented in 20% new oak, alive with good acidity and highlighted by light toast, almond and mineral accents that add complexity. Medium- to full-bodied and quite well structured. Drink or hold."

The Leflaive family has always had a few hectares of vines in Burgundy. Olivier has continued to expand the estate since its creation. Running the business means guaranteeing maximum control over the vines. The estate began producing topflight wines in the 1970s. Their philosophy is to produce simply great wines. There are no secrets to this - everything starts in the vines with good grapes. Today, the estate covers some 17 hectares.

Burgundy

Burgundy, located in eastern France, is one of the world’s most renowned wine regions, celebrated for its exceptional Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The region is divided into five main wine-producing areas: Chablis, Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune, Côte Chalonnaise, and Mâconnais. Burgundy’s complex terroir, characterised by diverse soils, microclimates, and slope orientations, plays a critical role in the distinctive characteristics of its wines. The region's classification system includes Grand Cru, Premier Cru, Village, and Regional appellations, reflecting the hierarchy of quality and location. Burgundy’s vineyards, many with centuries-old histories, produce wines that are revered for their elegance, depth, and expression of terroir. Key towns include Beaune, the region’s wine capital, and Dijon, known for its historical ties to the Dukes of Burgundy. Burgundy’s rich winemaking heritage, combined with its diverse range of wines, makes it a top destination for wine enthusiasts worldwide.
