Description

Cool Pacific air slows the ripening of these grapes, which come from a single block of younger vines. They are whole-bunch pressed and barrel fermented with natural yeasts to give a beautifully balanced wine, with refreshing acidity and a long finish.

Evening Land

The Willamette Valley in Oregon is often likened to Burgundy, thanks to its challenging growing conditions, varietals, and the quality-driven, small-scale producers drawn to the region. It's no surprise, then, that renowned sommelier Raj Parr and winemaker Sashi Moorman chose this area for their second joint venture, Evening Land. Centred around the historic Seven Springs Vineyard in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA, just north of Salem, this project benefits from the expertise of Burgundian legend Dominique Lafon, who joined as an advisor in 2007. Terroir is paramount here, with each cuvée distinctly expressing its unique parcel. The east-facing vineyard, established in 1984, features Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Gamay, with ripening moderated by Pacific breezes. Dry-farmed and managed biodynamically since 2007, this site is a testament to thoughtful, sustainable winemaking.
