Description

A lively, rustic red bursting with vibrant character and freshness. Made from old-vine Pais and Carignan grown in Chile’s Itata Valley, it opens with aromas of red cherry, wild strawberry, and crushed herbs, layered with a touch of earth and smoke. On the palate, it is light-bodied, juicy, and energetic, offering bright cranberry and pomegranate flavours, supported by soft tannins and a crisp, mouthwatering acidity. Unfined and unfiltered, this wine captures the pure, raw spirit of traditional Chilean winemaking—perfect for a casual sip or a hearty picnic.

Rogue Vine

Rogue Vine offers a fresh perspective on Chilean wine, showcasing the forgotten Itata Valley, 400 km south of Santiago, where centenarian bush vines thrive on pure granitic soils. Led by friends Leonardo Erazo and Justin Decker, who share a deep passion for terroir and sustainable practices, the project revitalises old vineyards with organically farmed Cinsault, País, Carignan, Malbec, Sémillon, Moscatel, and more. Vinified with native yeast in concrete tanks, their wines beautifully express the valley's unique freshness and minerality, revealing an entirely different side of Chile’s winemaking potential.

South Region in Chile

The South Region in Chile, encompassing the Itata, Bío Bío, and Malleco valleys, is renowned for its cool-climate wines and historic vineyards. This area benefits from a wetter, cooler climate with significant maritime influence, ideal for growing diverse grape varieties. Itata Valley is known for its old-vine País and Carignan, offering rustic and vibrant flavours. Bío Bío Valley excels in producing aromatic whites like Riesling and Gewürztraminer, along with elegant Pinot Noir. Malleco Valley, the southernmost sub-region, is gaining recognition for its crisp Chardonnay and expressive Pinot Noir. The South Region’s unique terroir and traditional winemaking techniques contribute to its distinctive and high-quality wines.
