Marto

Martin Wörner, or "Marto," as he is affectionately known, grew up in a family with a long history in farming but initially pursued a different path before returning to his roots with a passion for winemaking. After working and learning from prominent natural winemakers across Europe, including in France and Austria, he launched Marto Wines, focusing on creating wines that are as natural and expressive as possible.
The vineyards Marto Wines sources from are organically farmed, with a mix of local and international grape varieties such as Riesling, Müller-Thurgau, Silvaner, and Muscat. The vineyards are treated with the utmost respect for nature, avoiding synthetic chemicals and fostering biodiversity. Martin’s approach to winemaking is hands-off, allowing the grapes to ferment with native yeasts, often in a mix of stainless steel, neutral oak, and amphorae, depending on the desired expression.

Rheinhessen

Rheinhessen, Germany's largest wine region, is renowned for its diverse and high-quality wines. Located along the Rhine River, it benefits from a mild climate and varied soils, ideal for viticulture. It is particularly famous for its Riesling, known for its crisp acidity, mineral notes, and vibrant fruit flavours. The area also produces excellent Silvaner, Müller-Thurgau, and increasingly popular Pinot varieties like Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Blanc. Rheinhessen's innovative winemakers and commitment to quality have led to a renaissance in its wine reputation. With its blend of tradition and innovation, Rheinhessen offers a rich and varied wine experience for enthusiasts seeking exceptional German wines.
